I also have thin limp hair, and the secret is to go to someone who has the same kind of hair. They will know the tricks.
I spend about the same, $50 for cut and color including tip. I have been going to the same person for about 20 years so I think she gives us a better price, and does the whole family. She works as an independent in a salon so her prices are set by her, not the shop.
