The thinner thread is great if you don't want the thread to show much on the back but don't forget, when snuggling in your masterpiece, you'll see the back, too, so I ofter use a thread you'll enjoy seeing. Like when quilting a snowflake design, I'll use sparkling thread in the bobbin.
