I think I paid for maybe 10 different Hostas from little tiny-leafed ones to the larger bright yellow ones. Each Spring I cut the big ones in half, right down the middle, with a long kitchen knife and replant them. I've never lost one and now have almost 100. As far as I know, as long as they stay in AT LEAST over 1/2 a day of shade, they survive almost anything. I absolutely LOVE Hostas. I have yet to buy an Elephant Ear Hosta but that is next.
