Ok. I have over 152 different varieties of hosta in my yard. They will put up another flush of leaves later in the season, but if you cut them all back now you could set them back or worse if they are picky cultivars. They will be bigger and healthier next year if you leave the shredded leaves on them now. When it gets closer to the wedding, just remove any ugly leaves as they will have done their job by that point, anyway. That said, if you aren't worried about how they will do later, cut them off. But if it was me and my child's wedding, I would leave them for a while. Heck, by October they might be getting yellow and start going down for the season anyway.
I know the pain of having shredded hosta leaves. My boxer or my children always seemed to stomp the one I was looking forward to seeing in the spring!
