I personally love watching the squirrels... ( we are not over run by them ) but DH loves watching the birds..... He has an assortment of " squirrel proof" feeders... only one works( it is the weighted bar version...nothing heavier than a small bird or two can get on it bfore it clamps shut)Well, DH got the bright idea to give the squirrels their own feeders and they would leave the bird feeders alone..( I thought, yeah, right...) but u know.. it actually worked.!!! I couldnt' beleive it!When the squirrels start climbing the shepards hooks and bothering the bird feeders DH knows the squirrels feeders are empty( he only puts squirrel feed out ever few days.. I can't believe that works
DH also has a " soft" plastic pellet gun he shoots the squirrels with, when they get on the squirrel feeders
