Sewing on my old Singer is simple and uncomplicated. She does have her idiosyncrosies but I know what to do when something goes wrong. There is no plastic to wear out and it runs like a dream.
We bought a new Brother and I much prefer my Singer. It is a workhorse. It runs and runs. I haven't had to have it worked on yet and I bought it at a yard sale for $25 over 30 yrs ago. My DH oils it and I clean out the dust and no problems!
Mine has a knee control which I love. I have always hated the foot controls because they have a way of walking even when I put something under it.
