use a batting that allows up to 10" between stitching lines (like warm & natural)
then you can do minimal quilting- maybe highlighting wildlife, some water- some clouds... vines/leaves in the borders...
just enough to highlight-without distracting..
and if you are (new) to thread painting, you should practice on something before trying it on a (real) quilt
