I have only started playing with mine, but the last quilt I made I scanned my fabrics into the computer and then it could tell me the fabric yardage required for my design, so that I could make sure that I had enough of each colour. I just kept tweaking the design until I made sure it was going to work with what I had. It was also very nice to see the finished design with my fabrics. It can do so so much more from designing your own block etc, I like it.
