See if this helps; any time before 1200 noon is the correct time as it shows. Starting at 1pm you deduct 2 and get the correct time. so
1300 - 2 is 1
14-2=2pm
1500-2=3pm
1600-2 is 4
It goes this way until midnight which is 0000 ;then at 1am it starts 0100, 0200, etc until noon then next day
I spent my life around the military and at the hospital that i work at we use it and this is the easiest way that I have found.
