I usually wash and dry them like usual except that I use the allergy free soap and softener. I used to use the baby laundry soap but now I use the Tide Free and Clear. When you are being treated you can develop 'pecularities' - not exactly allergies - that are simply at that very percise moment are irritating to the skin. It can be from something as simply as an edge with three layers of fabric laying on the skin and then cover by the quilt. The combination of the chemicals in the body with the 4x chemicals in the quilt causes a reaction. I have not had that happen personally or on someone else since I started using the free and clear cleaners.
