Good idea it is hard to become close friends with some one your mother or grandmothers age our non quilting intrest are diffrent

I have been in a quilting group before, with ladies 65 and up... and while I loved every minute, it is hard to create close "friend"ships. I created more of a grandma/grandchild relationship (still cherished).
Does anyone know of a group like this in the Yakima Valley area? Does anyone get where I am coming from?
