Here's a picture of my latest project in progress. I've been working on it in my spare time for the last week or so, and it's ready to quilt now. I'm mulling over what kind of FMQ motif to use, and welcome any suggestions you may have!

I didn't use any particular pattern, but saw a picture on the web that was somewhat similar, and learned how to make the cubes from the One Block Wonder Encore book. I have a Super 60 triangle template that I used to cut the wedges after I sewed strips together. This quilt measures about 50" from point to point and is destined to be a wall hanging.

I kind of made this up as I went along and sure learned a lot about "what not to do next time" while I was working on this!
1. Make all the cube strips the same width instead of varying them...Because I made these various sizes I couldn't cut more than one set of strips at a time.
2. More shades of each of the colors would have been nice; I would have liked to have gone from lighter to darker variations of the cube throughout the quilt.
3. I'd like a better way of filling in the black space outside of the cubes. (I just added black strips to the end of each half block strip before sewing them together on this one.)
4. I tried out a pinning technique I saw on the web for getting accurate points and it worked pretty well. You stick a pin straight through the points, matching them as you do this. Then hold them together and pin flat on either side of the point before sewing...

So, here it is; enjoy!
