Love the blocks and really think your striped border sets it off. You sure gave many of us a great idea. Your teddies and minis are super, too. You mentioned you wanted to make a similar striped bedskirt for your bed. You can take an old sheet or piece of fabric the size of your bed and attach the bedskirt to it....then just slip your bedskirt between the 2 matresses (have your husband do it).
