I have a Kindle, as well. Note that all the books one downloads are in black and white.
If you want a quilting book on your Kindle, know that you won't see all the pretty colors, but you will have the project specs and instructions.
However, if you have Windows Phone 7, what you download on the Kindle can be synchronized with the phone -- and all will be in color!
It's the best of both worlds...it's all in your hand and it's all in color!
