Rose, the knob just above the badge is the stitch length adjust, screw it clockwise(in) for longer stitch and counterclockwise to make stitch smaller Glenn

Thanks for that, Glenn. My 1928 99 is the same, and I was going to eventually ask that same question!! :-)
