I am surprised. Am I the only person that sews standing up?????
I had horrible back and shoulder strain and my knees ached from sitting while sewing. My hubby took an old door and set it up at just the right height for me to stand and sew. Now I am able to sew for 12 hrs straight with no breaks.
I think it also is helping me increase my core strength and balance. I use both feet (not at the same time  ) on the foot pedal. Most of my weight is on one leg. When it gets tired I switch the the other one and use the tired one on the foot pedal. It also encourages me to move around much more. When I was sitting and sewing, I would roll my chair around and never get my blood flowing.
I did find one drawback. When FMQing the portion that usually sits in your lap hangs down causing a lot of drag. I ended up just shoving my machine back on the table so the leading edge of the table held the weight of the quilt.
