I have Pergo (wood-look laminate) in my sewing room, and I love it! I had originally wanted wood to match what's in the rest of the house. But after dragging pins over it with my rolling chair, dropping scissors on it (pointed end down!), and not seeing even a scratch, it was really the best possible decision for that room. Also, it's quite comfortable to sit/stand on. The kind we bought had the padding/underlayment already attached.
