My room is on our lower level with Armstrong stratomax on the floor which has a built in vapor barrier. I had carpet before and this is much better to move a chair around on and clean up threads. As already stated, some less expensive wood look brands have a noise to them when walked on-trial at the store. How the floor is placed could make a difference too-will it be a floating floor or attached to floor boards? Have fun choosing.
