I was only trying to show the diamond shape.
Ignore the rectangle shape.
But, again, if you're just doing diamonds, you don't really deal with the points...just the sides, and it would go together in rows (diagonal).
And even if you were doing stars, the points wouldn't really a problem and could be dealt with. If you make 60degree diamonds, you could to tumbling blocks. Could be very cool.
But first you have to decide what shape you want.
The other diamond below is based on height = 1.5xwidth.
So. a 4"x6" diamond or and 8"x12" diamond would create that image.
It's just another shape. The construction works the same way.
