Sandwich all three layers (Top, Batting, Back) together and pin through all three. Make sure your back piece is wrong side up. I pin every two inches starting in the middle and continuing in a circular motion out to the edges. I always use a larger piece than I need for my backing. After I have finished my quilting, I trim the edges straight and then bind them. Hope this helps! Keep quilting! I taught myself to quilt and have many short cuts I have learned along the way.
