Vinegar can't hurt her.
I have trouble with those little black bugs and my mom told me to put a bay leaf or two in a small bowl and set the bowl in the cupboard or wherever you see the bugs..windowsills etc and they are drawn to the bay leaf and die..I tried it and it works!!
I had a fruit fly problem and this is what I did:
Put a saucer or cup of apple cider vinegar in a few places around the kitchen, add just a drop of Dawn dish deterg. The flies think the vinegar is rotting fruit, land it and then the Dawn breaks down the waxy coat on the fly and it will drown. Really worked for us, and while we still had fruit in the house they still went for the vinegar.
