The other thing that works is to pick out a material print you really like, then use the computer dots on the side of the print to match up your colors.
I was at two quilt meetings and these dots were brought up as something to save in order to get coordinating color palettes without having to do a lot of thinking about them.
Needless to say, I'm doing a lot of review of my prints now for those dots!
