Thanks, Anna, and all who had nice words, but you all are not close enough to see how uneven the stitch sizes are. I'm just starting and having lots of fun. I hope to get better with practice. What's funny is I can't follow a line to save myself, so I just have to wing it. Sometimes it works okay, and other times I have lots of stitches to pull.

I'd like to add that if you have done FMQ but have not tried writing, I think you'll be surprised at how easy it is. You already have the rhythm from years of handwriting. The only problem with writing on a quilt is that it's always backwards on the back.
