I wish I could remember where I saw it. You take your blocks of whatever size add a border on all 4 sides. You then trim the border on an angle so the border is now triangles. then when you turn your square the inner block is on point and you sew the border edges together as a straight set. I don't have a picture. Thought I had it bookmarked but can't find it.
