Recently Ladybug 1938 asked about a Tree Skirt (http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-122300-1.htm). This isn't a tutorial, but pics of a Tree Skirt I made from a regular size Lone Start quilt pattern.

This was mine that I gave to a grand dgtr when I quit putting up a tree each year. She took pics for me. I had made several others that were given away, but didn't have a pic of them.

It is finished w/Prairie Points (the previous ones were finished w/coordinating binding). It is hand quilted - the 'star' is in the ditch, the muslin triangles a 1" grid around a quilted Christmas 'ornament' type pattern in each of the 8 - i.e.; bells, drum, wooden soldier, etc. Traci didn't get a close up pic of the quilting.

Hope this might give someone an idea for a new Tree Skirt for this year. I know several commented it just gets covered up w/presents. We always put ours up the week end after Thanksgiving & left it up till New Years, so the 'quilt' is only covered up a few days. We didn't have presents out TOO early to tempt little hands. ;-)

Have a blessed day & may all your quilts be filled w/love.
