I made this same design and it takes a lot of concentration to get everything pointed the right way. Don't fret! I have a small design board (12" x 12") that I keep by my sewing machine and I lay pieces of the blocks out. Then I double check the picture, then double check again befote I sew everything together.
I'd love to say I just threw it together but I was being, what I thought very careful and still.
