I think there is alot of misunderstanding about the fabrics from Liberty. While there are some other weaves the most popular are lawn. Lawn is a high thread count cotton that is carded to make an extremely smooth even thread. It feels as silky without the sizing as it does with. LQS fabrics are premium cotton as is cotton lawn. So Lawn is another type of premium cotton.
The items that Target had in their Liberty line were not Tana Lawns which makes a huge difference. Target was primarily showcasing the prints not the fabric.
I like working with the Tana Lawn and I prefer to working with voile. Much easier to handle, although I do believe that it should have a good amount of quilting especially if it is going to be an item that gets alot of use.
