Well, guess what... in September one of the fabric manufacturers will be making a line of OFFICIAL Shabby Chic fabrics. Not look-alikes, they will be designed by Rachel Ashwell herself.
It's a rather large grouping of damasks, floral stripes, simpler stripes, florals in several scales from tiny to large, and "solids".
White backgrounds, and then pink/green/blue/lavender florals/stripes/damasks.
I got a chance to see the sample cloth and it was wonderfully smooth and silky feeling.
OMG! I will definitely look forward to this! I'm a huge fan of shabby chic and love stuff from Rachel Ashwell and Laura Ashley. In fact, I have a collection of shabby chic fabrics and will continue to buy fabrics to add to my collection. I've not sewn any shabby chic quilts yet but will be doing so pretty soon, once I've found a suitable pattern for my fabrics. My favourite fabrics are from Lecien...love the soft and romantic colours!
