Thank you all! the purple one was my first attempt at anything other than stitch in the ditch. I just Jumped in and even though it is far from perfect I really loved how it turned out!
Feline fanatic- Thank you! i had the white border and it really needed something in it and i decided on the ribbon look. I marked it then sewed the ribbon design then went back and stippled inside the solid lines. on the corners where they line up i hand stitched bows on them and really loved how they added to it.
I am glad i experimented with the heavy quilting but i was really surprised by how much thread it used! I did learn a lot from this quilt as it was very experimental for me. I was way out of my comfort range but am happy with the results.
On the basket quilt I haven't been able to get an exact time line. the best i can figure by the fabrics is from the late 1950's. It is certainly loved my 10 year old daughter loved it instantly.I had it out to try and date it and i'd turn to look at it and she had taken it and curled up on the couch (several times).
