The coins are Chinese (that's what the package said). I found them in a little shop that sells all sorts of stones, jewellry, organic clothing and makeup, books, candles etc called the Hobbit Hut. The card they were attached to said the symbols meant, prosperity, long life and family. I thought that was perfect with the idea I was wanting to give. Each kimono is held closed with a beautiful filigree button.
I never thought of trying to sell them. Hmmm, maybe make a few between quilts and see how it goes at a craft sale this fall.
