Is there a learning curve to be able to do this? Can you recommend a book or tutorial??

Web sites are wonderful for gathering info. I have two books that I refer to for transferring photos to fabric - Photo Fun - Published by HP Invent and Blending Photos with Fabric - Pub. by Electric Quilt Co.

You need to have some sort of a computer program (or be able to do it from your printer) so that you can send a photo to your printer. You probably also will want to be able to size it and do some other things with it. If your photo is not on your computer you need to be able to scan it in to your computer - or take it to a business that can scan the photos and put them on a disc for you. It is really helpful if you have some sort of a photography program like Photoshop or Photoshop Elements so you can enhance the color (or bump up a black and white picture). You might also need to sharpen, cleanup an image, make it smaller or larger etc. None of the above is difficult to do, and I image there are tutorials on this board that give help/advice. Sure is a lot of fun to be able to do "just a little" more with your quilting.
