Do not take the embroidery out of the hoop.
If you started in the center by letting the machine tell you where to start and you didn't make any adjustments to the size of the design before you started, you can turn it back on and jump to the area where you left off by (on mine I hit help and then forward to the position I want.) going forward. It will go jump through the stitches that are there and when it gets to the area where YOU think it should begin, back it up a couple of stitches and push start.
