As long as you just hooped and started to embroider, you should be able to recover. Even my first cheapie embroidery machine would let you do this. You advance to the color you stopped at, then advance the stitch count to the approximate area you stopped. Better to restitch a bit than advance too far. If, however, you adjusted the design placement after you put the hoop on the machine (like moved it to the left a bit, or made it smaller) you can't recover unless you recorded your changes somewhere.
