I also starch after pre washing. I mix StaFlo liquid starch 50/50 with water. I take my fabric out of the washer. It is still damp, and swish it in the starch solution, then wring and toss it in the dryer. Take it out just slighty damp and iron. Iactually iron at this point, starting from the center and working my way out.
That's what my DGM used to do when she did her laundry,with a ringer washer. If she couldn't get to ironing right away, she would roll up her laundry & put it a plastic bag in put it into thr refrigerator until the next day. She loved to iron. She even ironed underware & bath towels.
