I agree!! I really thought society had outgrown this nonsense. Apparently not. Other than that, the quilts were great.
Ladies I am so sorry that this beautifuly made treasure of history has offened you. Having grown up here in the south and had family who were Quaker and were a part of the under ground railroad I find nothing offensive about this quit. I deplictis a period of our history in America. The workman ship is beautiful and I am sure that the person who made it, made it as a tribute to a dear friend or as a gift to a friend. Or perhaps a lady of color made it for her own family to use, many ladies of color were the best seamstress in this country. Are we to be offened by their work ? I appologize to anyone offended by this quilt but I will not remove it from this post because whom ever made it, for what ever reason the workmanship is beautiful.
Excuse me I made a reference to ladies of color .... if I have offened anyone with that statement I appologize also ... I just used the term used by my family and friends who are African American or as I like to think of them Americans!
