Is the 1 3/4" square all the same color and the 4 1/2" all different? I'm guessing that the center of the snow ball is the 9 patch, made from the 4 1/2" squares and then you do the traditional snowball corner piece with the 1 3/4" square. Without a picture it is hard to tell if this is what it all means.
