i was a "fabriholic" long before i was a quilter. this i a convenient way of managing that stash/collection. making renaissance costumes is a terrific way of managing it, too--it takes about five yards of any given beautiful fabric to even begin to address a period dress. the thing is, though, that a quilt is more practical, keeps more than one person covered, and will please a larger portion of the population!
(but i'm still a renaissance junkie, too)
