I snap them all the time with hand quilting, even the good quality brands. They break in half or the "eye" part splits.
Superstition: Good luck for the recipient receiving the quilt is what I've heard when your needle breaks or snaps like that.
its a raffle quilt-------------so I don't know who's getting the good luck yet----------until July 24th
