I've been asked to help a family that needs to sell a bunch of furniture and other home stuff on eBay. They're too busy to do this themselves and would compensate me to do it for them.
Any suggestions on compensation. Some percentage of sales (and if so, what percentage)? or a flat fee or ???
Experience? Recommendations? Warnings?
I did sell for some larger estates for a long time, and my fee for selling, no matter where I sold it, was always 30%. Even at that I didn't make much money! All the expenses of selling came out of that 30%, such as Ebay fees, gas for my car, renting tables at shows, hiring helpers, everything... and remember please! that you will still have to pay Ebay's listing fees whether the item sells or not. VIP to keep that in mind, especially in our economy now. Hope this helps...
Thanks!
