This is one of my first quilts. Probably made it 10 years ago. I gave it to my godmother who is Irish and a Nun. She loves Ireland, loves all things Celtic and especially the knotwork.

I designed this one myself on graph paper with colored pencils. I was so happy to do it - I thought I had made a breakthrough! :)

Might have to try this again in different colors (and smaller squares) I think each square was 4", and I cut them with scissors since I didn't know anything at all about rotary cutting at the time. I didn't realize strip piecing either. If you look closely you can see all the mis-matched seams. But I did stitch it with love.

Aunt Peggy still likes it. All the bows on it were hand stitched, and there are shamrock buttons hand stitched to every single angle of the knot.

I think I've come a long way from where I've started. :D
