Hello, Everyone!

Our wonderful, exciting new journey begins in just a couple of hours, technically speaking. This week, we will be starting our AOTH quilts with Block #9. This is a fairly simple block to start us on our way. If anyone encounters any problems, please ask for help here on this thread. We have quite a few ladies who are experts in different aspects of this quilt and will be able to solve just about any problem you can come up with. I have been trying to keep a list of what's been happening on this thread, so I might be able to give you a link to the solution of suggestion to help. If not, one of these ladies will be there for you, I'm sure.

When you have finished your block, take a picture of it and post it on the thread called "Affairs of the Heart Photos - Block #9. Anyone who wants to comment, please do so on the Block threads. Each Block has its own thread named as this one is, except with the number of the respective block instead of #9.

As a reminder, the easiest way to get to our group of threads, go to the bottom of any page. At the right end of the row of links is "Topic Lists." Click on that link. You will arrive at the thread for Topics and our Affairs of the Heart group of threads is the second item. Click on that and you will have the entire list of threads to scroll through until you find what you are looking for. I have a feeling that as we start posting pictures for the current week, that thread will magically move to near the top! This is because there is so much activity on it, I think.

I will get the ball rolling by posting my Block #9. I posted one on page 1 of the Photo thread, but I am re-doing all my blocks. I have enlarged the patterns & am doing hand appliqué & embroidery. You will find it on the Affairs of the Heart Block #9 Photo page.

Good Luck & enjoy this journey. I am looking forward to seeing all the pictures of all your beautiful blocks, so be sure and post them when you finish a block!

Kathy

P.S. Please don't feel that you must keep up with the group. If you can't make a block each week, work at your own pace. No one will fault you for that. We all have lives that will get in the way from time to time. Lots of us are just learning to appliqué, so it's taking us more time than some of the more experienced appliquérs. That's OK, too. This is supposed to be fun. It's not a race to see who can finish first, but rather a journey to be enjoyed. I have come to cherish this group of quilters through the group of Dear Jane Cyber-Sew quilt makers last summer. They can be your best friends!
