The Simplicity Strip Cutter seems to get universally poor reviews, both here and elsewhere. It is hard to achieve the accuracy required for quilting. I'm thinking it would be better for things like rag rugs, corded bowls and totes, etc. that don't require a lot of accuracy.

Maybe Sizzix has a die-cutting machine that is electrical (so you don't have to crank)? Accuquilt and Sizzix both cut very accurate strips.
