In the lower right hand of my screen I have a mag glass and 100% with a down arrow-left click on it and you can change your zoom level. At 50% zoom you don't have to squint  Increasing the zoom level will allow you to see things a little closer too! Ctrl O changes it back to 100%!

Okay back to the cute snowball. What a great idea! Like how the HST in the corners are less busy while they frame the busy snowballs. How wide are the snowballs? I would love to "steal" this idea if I may. I can see this done in a lap quilt for someone in a nursing home as an adult "I Spy"! Thanks for sharing.
The snowballs are 6" finished. I chose this size because I didn't want to work with anything smaller than 2". I used the 'wasteful' method of doing the HST's. By that I mean I cut 2.5" squares for the corner pieces; aligned two sides of the small square in the corner of the 6.5" square; sewed across the diagonal, and trimmed off the corner (leaving the 1/4" seam allowance, of course). So I have a large pile of little triangles that are headed for the trash, unless somebody wants them.
It really is a great (yet traditional) block to use for the I spy idea.
