I started sewing as soon as my mom would let me have a needle and began making my clothes around age eleven. Started quilting as an adult and I also make seat covers, drapes, and costumes.
My mother wouldn't help me with patterns; she told me I had to read the instructions and try three times by myself before she would step in. I think this made me super independent and now I am not afraid to try the unknown!
