It looks like it's a 1948 model.

I got it open!!!! It's a 128-23 like Verna's but not a centennial. It's got an all gold seal. How do you find out the year? The serial # is AH 616099. I'll try to figure out how to take a pic...

I got excited seeing your post, Verna! Thanks!
I recently got a treadle sewing machine that didn't have a key. It came with a small screwdriver that I took and put into the key slot and very gently turned it. It will unlock or lock the drawers. Maybe you could try this with a small screwdriver. It seems that those old locks could be picked pretty easily. :XD:
Therese - You can go to the Singer Sewing Machine site and check your serial number. They have a great list, it shows the year, the model and where it was made. Just Google "Singer Sewing Machine Serial Number" and the site will pop up first.
