Just as an FYI - I just finished making one of these - the strip part - not the borders yet. Took my tote that was filled with 2 1/2" batik strips that were assorted lengths (mostly FQ lengths and WOF, but some shorter than that) and took out colors that really didn't "go" and just started sewing until I ran out of the colors I had selected. As I selected fall colors, I am now in the process of preparing an assortment of leaves in fall colors that I will be fusing and then appliquing onto the top in sort of a "leaf-blown" pattern. Then I'll add my border and place a few smaller leaves onto the border and the center pieced top. Will post pics when I get all that done. Some great ideas on this post of how to make this pattern alot quicker/easier to do. Never thought about doing this in panels. Sure would have been alot easier - especially when I had to do the pressing part. LOL
