Have you had an energy auditor to your home? Many states have incentives that will pay for part or all of energy saving insulation, windows, and the like. Also, consider putting up plastic and/or black out curtains. These help to keep the cooler air in or out. Light socket insulators (cheap to buy and you can install yourself. Lower the temp on your hot water heater. It is an energy sucker! Consider putting an insulating blanket on it as well. Change your air filters on a regular basis as well. Only flush your toilet when you go #2 unless you have company. Change to energy efficient light bulbs.
