You need to make the sky recede. If you embroider some rope around the crosspiece and have your bucket hanging and maybe put a lip at the top of the bottom wood section.
Make the lip curved with a dark area in the center? Then echo the curve as you go down toward the bottom with stitching. It will make it look more 3-D. Rope, bucket and crank will make it look great.
