I had read somewhere that squirrels don't like cayenne pepper but it doesn't bother the birds. I put some on the seeds in the platform feeder. A squirrel came up and grabbed a couple of seeds, got a funny look on his face and started wiping his face with his paws. He then grabbed his tail and vigorously wiped his mouth. It really was funny to watch.
