My machine has a 1/4 in setting but it is not right. I have to adjust my needle to 2.5 setting to get accurate sized blocks.
I have bought 1/4 inch feet but still did not get the right size.
Each machine is different so you have to experiment to get it set for you.
A way to set for 1/4 inch is to put a piece of masking tape in front of your needle. Then take a ruler and lower the needle on the 1/4 in line lower the foot then mark the tape with a pencil. This line will give you a guide for your fabric to follow. Then do the strip piecing test that was recommended.
